Precious Cargo - Ba Bird (The Soul)
5m x 2m Banner
                                                       Egyptian Cartonnage 400BC
This brief was sent to me from Hull City Council. The brief was to select one object from a total of around 15 and create your own visual responce to your selected object. The object that i selected was the Egyption Cartonnage object as can be seen in the first image.

Looking atthe Egyptian Mummy Cartonnage piece makes you think that it was created withthe tools that were only available at that period of time, approximately400BC. What if it was created now withthe technology and tools that are available to us in the 21
stCentury? My task was to create a modernized version of the Mummy Cartonnage. Ionly used the color palette of the original piece to keep its originality andto give it homage. You could almost sayit is a remastering of the original piece.

This actually made it into the final six and won the competition. The banner can be seen in Hull Paragon Station amongst the other 5 winners and is 5 meters tall and 2 meters wide.
