As lifelong learner, spine surgeon Dr. Paul McDonough, MD, strives to keep his surgical skills keen and up to date. In order to accomplish this, Dr. Paul McDonough, MD, listens to college lectures, engages in continuing education classes, and attends the annual meeting of the North American Spine Society.

Each year, the North American Spine Society hosts an annual meeting for spine specialists across the world. At the meeting, professionals have opportunities to network with others within their profession, attend educational programs, explore technical advances within the field, and investigate career opportunities.

The 2015 meeting took place at McCormick Place West in Chicago, Illinois, on October 14th - 17th. Over 3,300 people attended the conference, with many benefiting from the 119 educational sessions.

Creativity expert Sir Ken Robinson was the keynote speaker. He discussed radical approaches to education that he believes will cultivate creativity within the next generation. Participants also had the opportunity to attend technology workshops and learn about the latest research. Those who could not attend the annual event were able to participate virtually through the live stream of the conference. CME credits were available for participation.
