La Marzocco Cafe :: Buna Coffee Celebration

La Marzocco is an incredible little cafe in the heart of The Seattle Center. Not only is it nestled in the lovely space that KEXP (the Seattle-based independent radio station) now calls home, it has a unique twist on the traditional coffee shop.

La Marzocco doesn't actually roast coffee, they're in the coffee maker biz. Those gorgeous polished steel machines that puff out clouds of steam and create the most perfectly pulled shots of espresso are a product of years and years and years of Italian craftwork by La Marzocco. Because of their high quality, this company has a huge following and great relationships with some of the best roasting companies in the world. What does that mean for the newly minted La Marzocco Cafe? A different roastery visits every single month, how lucky are we?! So far they've welcomed Stumptown from Portland, OR and G&B from Los Angeles, CA.

Earlier this month Buna, from Mexico City, was added to that list and I was lucky enough join the La Marzocco team to capture the evening. They offered free tequila, beer, and of course coffee along with a fantastic Mexican-style food truck and the incredibly entertaining Sotomayor as musical accompaniment along with a mariachi band to cap off the night. I cannot wait for the next residency (hint, they're from down under!)
