Komma (κόμμα)
Contemporary salt & pepper mills.
Komma (κόμμα)
1. Something cut off or a short pause.

Also, a root word for Comma,
1. Grammar A punctuation mark ( , ) used to indicate a separation of ideas or of elements within the structure of a sentence.

2. A pause or separation; A caesura.Everything happens simultaneously whilst cooking; heating the oven while chopping the ingredients, or flipping the pancakes while preparing the strawberry compote. However, while grinding pepper or salt, there is a pause. Most of the time, both hands are required to use the mills.

Ergo, a short pause is taken.

Like punctuation, salt and pepper is important. They are the two things that can transform a dish from bad to good, and good to great. This is where the concept for my salt and pepper mills stemmed from.
