hue

With design students as its target audience, ‘Hue is a magazine publication that provides insights into
the realms of the design world. It’s unique identity identifies itself as the blur between the traditional and
modern. Thus with both sides being pivotal to understanding design, Hue seeks to convey the inherent
connection between them.

The ‘Layered Issue’ delves into Ellen Lupton’s witty exploration of white space and Kenya Hara’s insight
into the role of technologies and it’s saturation in design. These insights are accentuated through hand
generated type and imagery, and the experimental layout of the articles. Overall with a flexible structure,
this Japanese bound magazine is truly able to convey its ‘traditional yet modern’ identity’, further outlined
in the style guide for future issues of Hue.
