Kevin is an amazing photographer and an all-around great guy, so I wanted to make sure his new identity was something special. As we began talking about possible directions, we discovered that people always mispronounce his last name. I tried to help by creating a logo system that used creative phonetics to simply spell it out for the people. If you still mispronounce Kevin's name, you have problems. Not braggin', but this logo was included in the HOW International Design Annual in 2009.
Collateral /
Kevin splits his time between commercial and fine art photography. Keeping these disciplines separate, but equal is important. With this in mind, I designed his portfolio using a custom-embossed leather sleeve holding separate, but equally glorious, cloth-bound and embossed books for his fine art and commercial photography. For his promotional mailer, I used postcards of his fine art work tucked in a pocket next to spreads of his commercial work in one easy-to-digest mailer.

Obviously the photographer's portfolio site is a key place to serve up the goods. I wanted to make sure this site was all about Kevin's photos. I used a squeaky clean layout and navigation to never distract from the work and when I did add a bell or whistle (i.e. typography treatment), it always ties directly back to the photography. Kevin also has a presence in many industry source books such as Workbook and AtEdge. In an effort to lure those art directors itching to spend a crap load of cash on a fancy photo shoot, we try to throw down pretty hard. Here are a few of those spreads.
