This was an exciting project with a very cool client. My client is Venkatesh Nayak who is a vocalist.
He was starting a new band with the name "Guys and a Whale", and if you know him.. you'd know know whose the whale was.
An important part of the design brief was that the logo had to have a whale in it.
So this was the starting point of the identity design.
Some early sketches for client approval.
Logo Evolution: Taking the sketch on to illustrator to create a vector for the whale, and custome typography for the "GUYS".
Logo in colour. Depth and texture were added to this version to create interest, and reduce the "flatness"
seen in the black and white versions.
The client finally picked the logo without the circle around the whale, and it made a real splash on FB.
