When asked to create an environmental representation of the word "buoy" for my Typography class, I highlighted the meaning of a buoy as a warning, and represented it through the bubbles of a date rape drug dissolving in a woman's drink. Opportunity:
Create a conceptual environmental representation of a given four letter word (BUOY) by designing consistent and effective letterforms using a grid of circles. Then, recreate the letterforms in an environment that reflects and emphasizes the meaning of the word without any photo editing.

Solution:
Created for the organization Take Back The Night, this ad shows a date rape scenario with bubbles from the dissolving pills in a woman’s drink forming the word “buoy.” This reflects the definition of a buoy as a warning in dangerous conditions, each letter in the typeface created has eight sides like a typical stop sign, is rounded along the bottom and sides for a feeling of buoyancy, and if applicable has a pointed top for a sharper, dangerous feeling.
