Carolyn's Tween/Early Teen Swimming early to mid 1990s

Carolyn's Swimming age 12 to 14
Early to mid 1990s
Before I became a child art student, I was a child competitive swimmer in my tweens and early teens competing at the women's nationals level starting at 13 years old. This was over 15 years ago for me. The first picture is from the London Free Press in Ontario Canada, with some of my team mates at age 12 in 1994, the second at age 14 in 1996. Frequently the local cable station also televised swimming competitions in the early to mid 1990s. I got to travel all over Canada and into the United States but it was really lonely for me as there weren't any other girls on my team my age at times and I'd get really lonely in hotel rooms by myself, my first trip by plane to a competition was at age 12. I was a member of Team Ontario twice and was lucky to have the opportunity to go to training camps in Florida at 13 and 14. This is a very long time ago for me.
