Library BOTAN

Location: Ukraine, Kyiv, Vozdvizhenka
Client: A group of businessmen united by their love to literature wanted to establish a modern library in Kyiv, to inspire their visitors towards something great.
Objective: to design a place for a secluded reading time.
Interior for the new creative space BOTAN coincides with a slogan "Botans are sexy'. Reading in this space is not just comfortable but also enjoyable.
Books and periodicals are placed on wooden shelves, supported by metal reinforcement frame.
The space is filled with light and air where one can work, read or socialize.
Simple interior is concentrated on three dominant colors: teal, black, and white. Impressive is addition of concrete, which completes the interior. On the top floor is located a small bar-cafe and a work area.
Original air fresheners vie can find masterpieces of world classical literature.
Massive steps lead into the basement floor. This is the quiet area.
There hangs a big hammock, lots of bean bags, small tables and blankets.
For the most demanding visitor, there is chair BOTAN, designed by Sergey Makhno.
It's soft cocoon eliminates all distractions, helping to concentrate and disconnect from the world
Walls are decorated with motivating quotes from the books. From the ceiling hangs a limited edition of Sergey Makhno's jar lights. Air freshers in the bathroom have books' excerpts printed on them.
Each detail in this interior has to inspire its visitors to create something unique and interesting.
