Uncovered
They are a group with no identity. They are deprived of one. After interviewing and photographing them for a year, they are uncovered. The Chinese illegal immigrants in the UK revealed their true selves in this book. A cover gives identity to a book and its contents. But because everyone in the book has no identity, this book remains uncovered, with no covers. It’s all a matter of perspective. How we read the bilingual stories in English or Chinese or both, changes our perspective. We have a choice. But for these people, there is no choice.
