Part of my job in the Zoo was to keep the map up to date and this year it got a bit of a new look too.
There are two maps: a finnish/swedish and an english/russian one. Here I present the finnish one.
The actual map side that tells you where each animal is, the location of some of the services and current events and exhibitions on the island. This side of the map was just updated to the year in terms of information, but the look is similar to previous years.
The other side of the map was renewed this year to make the information in it more structured. Now everything is spread into a grid where all the various information is visually laid out into different blocks. The Zoo's graphic guidelines favor the use of a grid and so it was an obvious choice for this use.
