Pencil Portrait of Cecil the Lion - by Julio Lucas

The recent story of Cecil the Lion has really caught my attention. So last night I began sketching him with new materials and this is what I came up with, it's a little ruff and unfinished but it's suppose to be.
This is a pencil portrait study of the late Cecil the Lion. Cecil was an African lion who primarily lived in the Hwange National Park in Matabeleland North, Zimbabwe. On 1 July 2015, he was shot to death by a big-game hunter, Walter James Palmer, who had wounded him with an arrow two days prior. Cecil's death resulted in international outrage and condemnation.
This drawing was drawn on cardboard craft paper.
Pencils used:
HB
6B
Ebony Black Prism Color
Warm Grey Prism Color
White Prism Color
Copper
Black Carbon
and a blending tool.
