The visual effects work in this spot mainly entailed adding the carved message "LIZZIE WAS HERE" to the wide shots of the tree (the closeups were done with an actual carved piece of fallen tree bark). Also some wire removal was needed on the wide shots (wire was used to make the hanging bodies swing). The promo was shot entirely with a very convincing stand-in actress, so he one shot of Christina Ricci's face was actually pulled from an episode of the series and I replaced the background and stabilized the handheld camera to match everything else. All of the compositing was done in Nuke X from the original 6k raw Red Dragon plates. I then graded the entire spot in DaVinci with my Euphonix Color control surface.
