To celebrate the 2015 NBA All-Star weekend in New York, Foot Locker and Nike opened their largest House of Hoops store in Madison Square Garden. The 5,100 square-foot location was open during the month of January and served as a hub for all things Nike Basketball including exclusive releases and in-store customization. To do something special for the store closing I was commissioned to hand-paint 43 tiles, inspired by the subway tile interior of the store, that were given away to the last customers of the pop-up House of Hoops to commemorate 43 years of Nike Basketball. To get the word out, Foot Locker posted the promotion on their Instagram to 1.9 million followers. The response was overwhleming with a line around the store to be one of the lucky customers.
