This projectnow is a concept made only for the Cherga design contest 2011. In a near futureduring this year, the company ADP-SMOLYAN will produce it as a part of theprize I won.

In thebeginnings of 2012 I will plan to produce it here in Argentina, with anotherdesign I have been working during this year too.

This deskwas designed thinking about economizing material. The legs and middle connectorare made off one small sheet of 12 mm MDF wood. The table could be made off 8mm glass, or simply another piece of MDF wood. In the top of the legs there arefour rubber pieces that prevent the glass fall off.

Thelegs are positioned in a way that can hold 80 Kg without breaking. There are 3 support points. Each point ofsupport is formed by 2 legs. Totally, the table has 6 legs. Because that, andwith the elastic and mechanical qualities of the wood, I could design this deskthat presents a futuristic and sober design.

Soul desk couldbe located in a small kitchen, or even in an office. Its design generates someintrigue about the legs position, making it different to another’s in themarket actually.

When I knewabout this contest, I passed several hours thinking in how to overcome mydesign level, and draw a lot of models of desks, the only thing that have thesemodels in common were the material (MDF wood), and the manufacture process: CNCmachined.

The design of this table is simple andelegant, with sharp lines and deep angles. Thetop consists of a circular sheet of glass that allows you toplace this table in any kitchen style, conservative,or modern.
The shape ofthis table comes to my mind when I saw some metal structures ofbig buildings and bridges, where today, are more pure and useelegant lines, mixing classical engineering, with morerefined design.
