On mid April 2015 was commended to me the visual identity for one of the Portfolio Review meetings here in Bogotá, Colombia.
The idea of the behance network represented as a creative machine were anybody can plug in, came to my mind very quickly.

Being around Behance for almost two years and attending to one of the meetings last year as a speaker, made me think that only good things can happen if you connect yourself into such an amazing place to showcase your work, find inspiration and get feedback from very focus minded creative people. The word “connection” was the key.
As a geometry lover, started drawing the body. Then continued sketching digital and decided that it would be more like a machine panel divided by different sectors with their own responsibilities to fulfill.
There would be the energy generator, the viewfinder, the main board, the sponsorship space, the title panel and a final group with transistors, fans and dimmers to complete the space.
The construction started with wood boxes, as I was very interested to start mixing different materials with cardboard to make the object sturdy and durable. When the boxes were done, went to laser cutting the cardboard components.
This time decided to pick a colour palette for the design of every single object in the scene. The labor was arranging objects on plain cardboard at first, then applying colours to gain contrast on the composition.

When all of the components were done some blending was needed to finish the still, so I went to pick up some colour laces on the street to make vivid cables. The interaction of a hand was very important to show the scale, the technique and most important, to talk about the final consumer of the meetings: designers, artists, photographers and other kind of creative entrepreneurs connecting themselves into the machine.

Some of the dimmers and buttons can be actioned. A second part of this project is to create GIFs and stop motion videos to continue spreading the idea of good things happening when connected.

Keep in touch to see the results. Thanks for watching!
