I was commissioned by Boneshaker magazine to create an illustration for Issue #7 to accompany an article by Jet McDonald. The article included reference to a trip where Jet found himself enjoying ‘short lapses of silence’ while cycling on a plateau through the Turkish mountains. In contrast to this memory he also talks about the busy, hectic and noisy experiencing of cycling in a city where people seem preoccupied with jumping red lights and listening to music rather than enjoying the simplicity of the ride. It was these images that I chose to focus on in the spot illustrations.
