CONTENT STRATEGY & COPYWRITING // Edmodo Snapshot
 
In 2014, Edmodo launched a brand-new assessment feature to give teachers a way to assess students on the brand new Common Core State Standards. Typically, educators have had to research and understand standards on their own, then develop their own assessments to use in class.
 
While Snapshot is ultimately designed as a quiz that a teacher assigns and a student completes, the true value of Snapshot is the time it saves the teacher on the front and back end. All they have to do is a select a standard, then Snapshot automatically generates a quiz for them, using questions from a standards-aligned question bank. Upon student completion, Snapshot also provides the teacher with immediate feedback on performance.
 
After looking at all the marketing pieces being requested and the in-product flow, I crafted a voice that highlighted the every day teacher challenges Snapshot can help solve. To draw teachers in to read and learn more about specific features, I blended humor with practicality to show that Edmodo understands their daily struggles and is invested in providing the thing they value most: time.

CONTENT STRATEGY & COPYWRITING // Edmodo for Parents
 
To help families support what the teacher does in the classroom, the Edmodo for Parents standalone app was created. Giving educators a way to communicate what homework is due and how a student is performing, Edmodo needed to launch the app to all audiences involved: teachers, parents, and students.
 
Keeping each target in mind, I developed a voice that conveys what the app does, while addressing and easing any concerns about parents/families becoming too involved. Using humor, the copy reflects very real conversations between parents and students.

To introduce users to a new feature, created an onboarding flow that included an in-product promo banner. Once banner is clicked, users are taken through a series of hopscotch hints that explain how the feature works and points out where key info can be found.
