Jack Lowe's profile

RNLI Lifeboat Print Releases

I've loved proofing and making the limited edition prints since returning from the inaugural trip of The Lifeboat Station Project — my mission to document all 237 RNLI* Lifeboat Stations in Britain & Ireland using Victorian photographic methods.

Print sales are the foundation of the Project, in so much as people who buy the prints are also helping to keep the collodion flowing and Neena rolling.

Less than a month after making the mission's very first glass plate in Southwold, I can't tell you how much it fills me with pride that there are people 'out there' who are happy to part with their hard-earned cash for one of these prints and, in turn, support the Project in its early days.

The photographs below depict a selection of the Archival Pigment Prints made from the 12x10 inch Ambrotypes (wet plate collodion positive images on glass).

Prints from each plate are strictly limited to just 50.
