A series of Postcards made in collaboration with an Israeli friend & classmate - Hila Halpern as a part of a classroom assignment on my student exchange programme.
We studied a street (The Rabbi Nachman St.) in a city called Jaffa (Yafo) near Tel-Aviv (Israel) and documented it. Jaffa has a distinct day and night life and the transformation of the place from a bustling flea market in the day to a place with a laid-back, chilled out night-life is quite interesting.
We did collages using the images that we shot on our visits, which were translated on to a set of five postcards. The idea was to make something that would capture the essence and the experience of the place, but at the same time, is unconventional and unlike the other touristic memorabilia that you generally find in Jaffa.
