I was commissioned to create art for beatsmith, explorer & music producer Koothu ஒலி‘s spicy new Hip-Hop album iNDiATMOSPHERE as well as his new single form the album titled - 'Delhicious'.
iNDiATMOSPHERE is an 8 track EP that celebrates traditional and vintage Indian Pop, real life interactions, stories, new sounds & field recordings and is a melting pot of all that he loves about India.
With the artwork I wanted to channel and bring together all the elements that mean most to the artist; Indian music, Indian folk art forms, passion, celebration & tradition with a heavy dose of Detroit inspired production.
Koothu or Therukoothu, is an ancient art, where artists play songs with dance and music in storytelling the epics, performed in Tamil; it is a folk art that originated from the early Tamil country. The artist's moniker is inspired by this art form.
