"Darker than Fiction"
The cover design is based on one of the book’s stories “Underneath”, and shows an illustration of a desolate landscape that covers the front and back of the book. I purposely tried to create a sense of uncertainty without making it look too horror, thanks to the regtangle in which I placed the title. In fact my classmates felt it looked “too pretty”. On the contrary, this allows the cover to be more ambiguous and capable of inciting the hypothetical readers to want to know more about it, if they were seeing it stored in a library.
I wanted the inside layout to give the same cold sense of the cover using small caps titles. I have restructured the design of the book by correcting the horizontal alignment of consistent elements across page sequence.
