NCA&T GRADUATE ENGINEERING CENTER

The Graduate Engineering Center (GEC) will be built on the North Carolina A&T State University campus in Greensboro, NC.  It will be a new 14,000sf facility adjacent to the existing three building engineering complex on the southern edge of campus, along Market Street.  The building is oriented along a north-south axis and connects pedestrian circulation from the main campus quad to the north and vehicular circulation and parking from Market Street to th  

The GEC will serve as the collaborative and social hub for the College of Engineering including the disciplines of Civil, Electrical, Mechanical, Industrial, Chemical, Bio-Environmental and Computer Science Engineering. It will house research space for graduate fellows and faculty members and seminar space for instruction. Additionally, a large 2400sf social event space will be included in the new facility and accommodate annual conferences, industry events and informal gathering and study space for all graduate students.

The GEC is conceived as a HUB of social and collaborative EXCHANGE among graduate students and faculty. The new student center is the medium for this exchange; an INCUBATOR and GENERATOR of new innovative ideas and approaches to the vast disciplines of engineering contained within the College.
