An accomplished business executive, Fuad El-Hibri is the founder and executive chairman of the board for Emergent BioSolutions Inc. in Rockville, Maryland. In addition to his involvement in the biopharmaceutical industry, Fuad El-Hibri is a well-known philanthropist who serves as chairman of the El-Hibri Foundation.
In October 2013, the El-Hibri Foundation recognized the International Day of Peace by presenting its annual Peace Education Prize to Dr. Betty A. Reardon. A longtime champion of peace education, Dr. Reardon has served as a teacher and mentor to many others working to advance the cause of peace. Among her many accomplishments are founding the International Institute on Peace Education and helping to build a worldwide network of peace leaders.
A professor at Columbia University Teachers College, Dr. Reardon has written extensively on practical alternatives to war and violence. She also was awarded the 2010 Sean McBride Peace Prize by the International Peace Bureau in Geneva, Switzerland.
