Throughout his career, Fuad El-Hibri has earned a number of honors in recognition of his personal and professional accomplishments. Last year, Maryland Senator Barbara A. Mikulski awarded him a Citation for his contributions to economic development and health sciences. Ernst and Young granted Fuad El-Hibri its Entrepreneur of the Year Award for Greater Washington in 2009, and he is a recipient of the René Moawad Foundation Distinguished Community Service and Achievement Award.

A prominent entrepreneur, Fuad El-Hibri founded Emergent BioSolutions Inc. in 1998. Until 2012, he served as the company’s Chief Executive Officer, and today he continues to guide its development as Executive Chairman of the Board. Emergent BioSolutions focuses primarily on vaccine development and has released BioThrax, the only anthrax vaccine licensed by the Food and Drug Administration.

Fuad El-Hibri prepared for his career at the Yale School of Management, where he earned a Master of Public and Private Management. In addition, he holds a Bachelor of Arts with Honors in Economics from Stanford University. At Stanford, he focused on international trade and computer science.
