Terracotta Army

Original Size: 24" X 32"

The Terracotta Army is a collection of terracotta sculptures depicting the armies of Qin Shi Huang, the first Emperor of China. It is a form of funerary art buried with the emperor and whose purpose was to protect the emperor in his afterlife. The Terra Cotta Warriors and Horses are the most significant archeological excavations of the 20th century. Work is ongoing at this site, which is around 1.5 kilometers east of Emperor Qin Shi Huang's Mausoleum in Lintong, Xi'an, Shaanxi Province.

In order to promote the world heritage, I photographed a series of Terracotta images in Xi’an, China, and designed the poster campaign.
