Sports and health complex with indoor pool

CONCEPT
The objective of this project was to create a sports and health complex with an indoor pool for the municipality of Premià de Dalt, Barcelona, Spain. The new complex shares the plot with an existing sports center, respecting its architecture and spaces.

Optimization of interior and exterior spaces
The wet cores (whether they are changing rooms, bathrooms, etc.) are centralized on the lower level, leaving the space dedicated to sports practice free. This configuration results in spacious rooms with windows along the entire length of the south facade, offering a privileged orientation and position that allows ample light and distant views to the sea.
Visual relationships have been prioritized between the access area, the social cafeteria, the fitness room located on the access level (+78.90m), and the views to the sea through glazed elements. On the pool level (+74.40m), there is a water area, the pool basin, and the changing rooms. Here, too, the relationship with the building's exterior is emphasized through glazed elements on the south facade.

The spaces adjacent to the window on the south facade at the +78.90m level are open and enjoy a total transparency between the interior and exterior, enhancing distant views to the sea.
This part of the building thus takes on a character of lightness and almost complete openness.
The roof appears as a flat element at +82.70m, emphasizing the horizontal nature of the building. At this level, it is planned to use the rear half for the installation of a photovoltaic panel field, and the front half, with views, is intended for use by subscribers to engage in outdoor sports activities to take advantage of its elevated and privileged position above the surrounding buildings.
