My Role
User experience design

Challenge
Standard phone features (e.g. handling of call forwarding, call transfer, and voice mail) are no longer standard features on smartphones; many smartphones simply does not support this, and if they do the way to use the features varies greatly from phone to phone.
A phone carrier company approached us with a wish to bring together the features they provide with the features of a smartphones. The focus was on the business clients.

This was a side project that hasn’t been finalized.

Process
Initially we got an overview of the features the carrier provided to their business customer. Based on research and analytics we got an idea of which features were most commonly used, which ones created problems for the user and which ones were easy and delightful.
Based on the insights we brainstormed on features and began to build a concept. During this process we checked in with the client and the users to ensure that we were on track. Based on my sketches and later wireframes I built a prototype in Axure to test with the users. Later I created some initial design screens in Sketch3 and another prototype in InVision to test the visual direct

Solution
We introduced a concept of a global app where the user will be able to use features provided by the carrier and inherent in the phone regardless of phone models or OS.
Of course the app must be easy and a joy to use to ensure that the user will keep using the App as his/her  primary business function on his/her smartphone during a busy workday.
Core features: contact list, recently used contacts, favorite contacts, list of received voice messages (voice + video),  forward calls, conference calls, status update to let co-workers know what you are up to and if you are busy.

All sketches, wireframes and graphic designs are created by me.
