The Benildean is the official student magazine of De La Salle-College of Saint Benilde. Reacted (Volume 8, Issue 2) is about confronting a fast-paced social landscape filled with pop culture fever, ever-changing trends, and an internet in disarray.
As the Layout Editor for Reacted, I led a team of five layout artists in creating different layouts and finalizing the overall look of the issue. I'm a firm believer that how content is presented is just as important as the content itself.
In line with Benildean Press Corps' brand DNA (Creative, Youthful, Smart), we wanted to provide readers with clarity in navigating such controversial issues, much like how we all need guidance when surfing through the vast cyberspace. We did this through the use of eye-catching visuals, vibrant colors, modern typography, and easy-to-digest layouts.
As layout artists, it is our job to elevate the information we provide through visuals and design, and, ultimately, help readers make sense of the information they need.
