Invisible self-portrait
Conceptual self-portraits
New series of self portraits, based on the idea of invisibility, which as noted in my brief: self-portrait series where the character tries to melt, fade, disappear, hide in the background (minimum shooting configuration: white wall / flash). I hope you enjoy these five following self-portraits...
Recover me

First photograph of the series.
Yeah, you can say I am a big fan of Dexter TV show opening ... :)
Wrap me

In my various attempts to hide myself on a white background, I quickly realized that it was sometimes necessary to add an item to humanize (or make less scary) some appearances :) I logically direct my choice towards my glasses, cause it is already a classic symbol of the invisible man...
Erase me

At the beginning of this Invisible self-portraits series, there are many desires combined:
The first was that one of the fifth photographs is a direct homage to Magritte and his painting "Attempt of the impossible" (but this time the painter erases his character).
The second was to play on the feeling of emptiness, with a character as minimalist as the white background.
And the third was to achieve self-portraits by insisting on the textures (and yes, the work of Nadia Wicker on self-portraits interests me a lot !)

In the end, the most difficult step in the realization of this series was to find the appropriate frame in order to combine these three desires, this leading to a nice paradox:
Emphasize the textures with the need to zoom to enclose the character in the frame (Nadia Wicker again) in opposition to the minimalist white background playing a leading role in telling the story of this series...
... well too bad for the tErase me

Flour me

Fourth and penultimate attempt to hide myself on a self-portrait with a taste of cake ...
It's strange, but as we go along the shootings, preparation time and cleaning of the face increased considerably...

Blob me

Last attempt to hide myself in the background, with the advantage of moisturizing my skin like never before :)
Again, the use of glasses has been a logical choice to add a graphic point of reference in all that blank, and restore some humanity to the character (a mix between the Robert Duvall in THX 1138 and Freddy Krueger ... )
