Domino series was a project like a startup within design team of iriver. The project was very experimental and ran by design team from the concept to sales to deliver holistic user experience. Especially, iriver products were usually sold at electronic retails, but the retails that could be a great fit for Domino was selected and MoMA was one of them. I visited MoMA to meet a curator of the store for design sales and our sales team followed up, so Domino was the first product of iriver being sold at MoMA store. After Domino, various lineups of iriver contributed its brand image greatly.
This beautifully simple memory stick, bears a simple numeriacal graphic in Helvertica to indicate its mermory capacity.
02 inflate
The Domino Inflate is the second generation USB memory stick from iriver, offered from 8 GB memory capacity to 32. Unlike the popular rectangular shape USB memory stick design, this USB memory stick incorporates streamlined shape. Unlike other USB memory stick products that have the product specifications and information printed on them, the Domino Inflate’s product markings and memory capacity is engraved on the product itself. The product is manufactured without any cutting process, lowering the manufacturing defect from 20% to zero; and 40% of the product packaging is made with corn starch to maintain environmental sustainability.
