Earthmen | Caught I and II
ZAGARA
. . . Earthmen | Caught I and II are about the metamorphosis as I encountered when I visited the Heemtuin [indigenous botanical garden] for the first time. Both sculptures have a skin of earth, the soil of all blooming flora and fauna. And yes they do have a dreamy look, and yes both of them are not in the same scale, but in spite of that Eartmen manifest according to me in a different way than we think.
Walking around the Heemtuin one can get the double feeling of be Caught in the reciprocal sense of the word. And sometimes that results in the same pose [Eartmen | Caught I]

Earthmen | Caught I and II are specially made for the group exhibition 'De Heemtuin Verbeeld VII: metamorfose' ['The indigenous botanical garden Imagine VII: methamorphosis'] in the Heemtuin Leiderdorp.
The official opening of the exhibition was done by alderman Jeff Gardeniers of the city Leiderdorp . . . .
