ÍTACA Music Festival
ÍTACA is a music festival that offers a wide range of performances over 3 months in some of the most beautiful places of the Empordà, in Catalonia, Spain. As for many years now, The Others developed the festival’s visual identity. We worked with a local illustrator, Marc Torrent, to provide the festival with catchy and powerful visuals.
Collective imagination
The ÍTACA festival claims culture as a basic right, resulting in a revolutionary declaration that demands strong and dynamic visual compositions. For the illustrations, elements of popular culture such as myths, legends, and natural features of the Empordà region were personified and used as main drivers of the festival’s message.
Creative approach
Our creative approach consisted in using the visual imaginary of the festival’s first editions, with illustrated pieces that kept the versatility, dynamism and impact of its latest editions’ graphics. The dialogue between the festival’s origin and aspirations was further alimented by creating a consistent chromatic, iconographic, and typographic visual system. The resulting identity for ÍTACA 2023 brought about a blunt, robust and striking branding celebrating music and culture.
