Home-cooked 回家吃

Home-cooked is a project aiming to bring back the fading tradition of having regular home-cooked meals with your family. Looking into the future, we may lose the tradition of having regular meals at home considering the drop in percentage over recent years. To tackle this problem, this project sets out to create a service that prepares all the cooking ingredients needed for you to cook so you no longer need to fuss over finding the time for grocery shopping. Enjoying your own-made healthy meal with your loved ones has never been easier.
Home-cooked aims to encourage more young people to pick up cooking for their family. Recipes and order forms are included in the package, together with postcards of some of the benefits. For more information on this matter and benefits of having regular home-cooked meals with your family, check out my infographic on this project.

The wrapping papers are designed to fit the recipe it contains. These three distinct wrappers are a representation of the three major races (Chinese, Malay & Indian) in Singapore as Home-cooked provides a variety of popular local recipes to choose for different races. The brown one is 'Hotplate Tofu', a popular Chinese dish, green one is 'Nasi Lemak', a Malay dish, and last one is 'Nasi Biryani', an Indian dish. The patterns on the wrapping paper show the ingredients used in these recipes.

(Left)  Hotplate Tofu: round egg tofu, omelette, button mushroom,
baby corn, carrot, prawn, flat string bean

(Middle)  Nasi Lemak: Egg, shrimp chilli paste (belachan), coconut-milk
flavoured rice, cucumber, roasted peanuts, anchovies, drumstick.

(Right)  Nasi Biryani: Easily recognizable by the red-orange-yellow rice,
egg, onion, coriander, lime, curry and chicken.

The order form shows the available recipes for your choice. Tick your desired dish to cook and
the ingredients will be delivered to your door step. The recipes, order forms and postcards will be
packaged in an envelope with the same pattern for easy keeping and identification.

Each package comes with one random benefit postcard
