Macau, a city where East meets West, holds the records of a rich and diverse history. During the Portuguese colonial era, Macau was divided into Macau City (including the five parishes on the Macau Peninsula) and the Island City (including the parishes of Taipa and Coloane). Although the current administrative divisions no longer use the names of these two cities, the division into parishes remains in use to this day.
Today, Macau has transformed into a bustling global casino city. However, in this poster project, we revisit the past and embark on a journey through twenty streets from the seven parishes of old Macau, rediscovering those cherished memories that lie deep within our hearts. It was a time of confusion and chaos. By skillfully combining elements from old Macau, we aim to visually recreate the perplexing streets of Macau. It represents the last reminiscence of old Macau, and this poster project is not only an exploration of visuals but also an emotional journey. It presents Macau's bewildering and chaotic scenes in a unique way, evoking deep emotions and memories in the viewers. Finally, we chose to reproduce these nostalgic fragments using a RISOGRAPH printer, aiming to awaken memories of the bygone golden times and bring those beautiful moments of Macau back to life.
