Nairocket Website Character Design & Illustrations
The task assigned to me was to create unique and original thematic artworks to be used on the Nairocket website to positively clarify, decorate, or visually represent text or complex ideas for key sections of their new website.
To kick off, I delved into world building of a space that would bring together the culture, character, imagery and landscapes of the 2 main locations that Nairocket operates from - Nairobi and Amsterdam.
I experimented with human and anthropomorphic characters who were inspired by the people and the wildlife of both countries respectively. Eventually we settled on the anthropomorphic characters as they gave a more cheerful and whimsical twist to the fantastical theme of the Nairocket universe.
Icons set of cross cultural references.
The NS train (Nederlandse Spoorwegen), is iconic to Amsterdam and having it traversing Nairobi landscape with the Nairocket offices and other iconic buildings in the background.
Some refences to Kenyan and Dutch food culture such as the popular street food, a shared love of sizzling barbecue and of course some good tasting beer!
Showcasing the friendly and encouraging work environment even further by showing one of the coolest perks of being part of Nairocket, an onsite office gym and pool!

Landing (page) in a new world where Kenya & Netherlands exist side by side featuring the Kenyan Rhino on his bodaboda and Dutch Cow on her bicycle having a grand time checking out both locations. In the horizon, a community of iconic Nairobi buildings and Amsterdam canal houses/ contemporary architecture is thriving.
To learn about Nairocket , you are invited to take a cosmic journey with the Pilot Dutch Cow, alongside Kenyan Leopard and Dutch Wolf as Co-Pilots in their Matatu Space Shuttle. First up is Route 105 in Westlands to the head office, Le'Mac building.
