Break the Cycle

ISTD Brief (International Society of Typographic Designers)
Re-imagine the communicative power of stamps; could they be used as a vehicle for raising international consciousness on any number of issues?

Concept
The outcome campaign ‘Break The Cycle’ would use stamps as a primary tool to disseminate awareness of human trafficking. The metaphorical connection between stamps and trafficking victims being that both have the ability to travel across borders, quickly and en masse.
'Break the Cycle' Stamp Set
The stamp set depicts different aspects of one story of human trafficking with each segment forming part of a circle. The individual would need to tear apart this circle in order to free the stamp, thus breaking the cycle.
'Break the Cycle' Presentation Pack
The presentation pack expands on the trafficking victim’s story shown on stamps
'Break the Cycle' tear-off postcard
The presentation pack and first day cover would include a postcard encouraging recipients to get involved with the campaign. The left half suggests for recipients to send the postcard on to spread awareness. The second half of the postcard offers the option to send off for a second stamp set which instead depicts the broken cycle story.
'Break the Cycle' Information Booklet
Much like the stamps and postcard, the reader would have to break through the perforated cover cuting through the logo in order to open the booklet and reveal the image beneath. The booklet answers frequently asked questions on human trafficking using impactful typography, photography and block colour.
