The objective of this project was to recreate the same digital painting in four color schemes--monochromatic, complimentary, triad, and tetrad. This was my first digital painting on a computer and I experimented with a few different adobe brushes. Additionally, each drawing is done in a slightly different style.
Monochrome
For the above painting I utilized a blue monochromatic color scheme. My goal with this one was to make it painterly and slightly impressionistic.
Complimentary
This painting consists of complementary oranges and blues. The style, while still slightly painterly, is more realistic in nature.
Triad
For the triad digital painting, I decided to focus on creating an energetic aesthetic. I wanted the colors to be bright and the strokes to contain movement. I used a pink, violet, and green triad color scheme.
Tetrad
The tetrad version contains yellows, greens, reds, and variations of a periwinkle blue. This version contains calmer colors and a variety of textures. With the blurry textured background, the focus is on the skier more than the surroundings.
