A few holiday cards I've created for KU over the years.

My intention with the 2017 New Year illustration was to create the illusion of a cut paper card. I used classic campus landmarks to fill the letterforms with a dramatic sunset in the background. My favorite part of this illustration is the depiction of Wescoe in the number seven. A much maligned campus building, it doesn't get get much play from Marketing and I enjoyed the opportunity to give it some recognition. In production we used a spot UV coating on the color, leaving the white paper matte to further the illusion of a three-dimensional card and to add a touch of luxury. This card awarded our print vendor a "Best in Category" at the Midamerica Graphic Excellence Awards.
