Mission

The mission of the non-profit project, Cute Cure, is to support kids who must take various medications while receiving long-term medical care in hospitals or at home. Cute Cure presents an unparalleled solution where we can add emotional healing for children alongside medical treatment.

Research and insight

Our research started with children in hospitals, their parents, doctors, and psychologists, whose answers showed the need for a story-based solution that can give children emotional comfort with medicine and motivation to recover faster.

Solution

We created an innovative packaging system with sticker rewards for multiple drugs: drips, pills, syringes, and powder packs. The kit includes 12 animal-themed covers in the primary lion box. The hospital staff or parents place the medication into animal packaging with a motivational story. This project has no analogs around.

Animal-themed covers

We aim to turn the healing process into a story, with certain characters who help the child find strength and motivation within themselves. 12 cute animal characters who become superheroes during treatment were created. Parents and doctors can use all of them as narratives for a story in which they face difficulties but overcome them and recover together.

Unique structures made to use with ease

While developing the animal-themed cover constructions for the different types of medicines, it was very important to us that the parents or the hospital staff could easily understand how to use them. We have simplified the process to the most efficient and intuitive solution. Each cover is applied in 2-3 very simple steps.

Sticker reward system

To motivate children to get treatment, we have developed a sticker reward system. After various medical procedures, the child receives super-power stickers. In this way, after each treatment or medicine, the child becomes healthier and his or her superhero powers also increase.

Children were involved in the process

Who better to know what superpowers their heroes might need than the children themselves? At this point, they were involved in the creative process. From the many drawings created, we chose the finest and turned them into the superpower stickers included in each kit.

Art Therapy

It's really hard to maintain a good emotional state when you've had a long, serious illness. The Cute Cure kit tries to provide as many ways as possible to calm down and one of them is art therapy. It helps to release pent-up emotions, concentrate on drawing or coloring and calm the mind. Art therapy can be practiced together with parents.

Coloring Space

On the back of each cover, there is space for coloring, writing, or drawing. The child can color in the outline of the animal to personalize and give it the colors they want or extra superpowers they need. It's a place for the outpouring of emotions and imagination, so any use is fine as long as it helps to calm the mind down.

Sustainable materials

In addition to the different ways of use, materials were chosen responsibly. The main box used corrugated cardboard, E flute (partly recycled), uncoated Maestro Print offset paper for the medication packaging, and paper stickers used Unicoat Plus, sticker paper (plastic, but after use, it recycles as plastic).

Cute Cure in hospitals

We have already delivered packaging kits to hospitals, and the results have exceeded our expectations. Children and parents started to feel more positive. Scary medicine was used with more comfort and motivation. Doctors and nurses were happy to cooperate as it gave more opportunities to make friends and connect with their little patients. Children started to collect and play with their animal superheroes. In this way, medical treatment has become a playful process where children can heal with joy.
