I’ve had the pleasure of designing all Finn Coren covers since we met on the Blake Project back in 1996. Nordiske lyrikere (Nordic Poets) is an ongoing project. So far two albums (with accompanying singles) have been released. Each dedicated to one Norwegian poet. On the first one Finn interprets Olav H. Hauge's poetry, on the second Jens Bjørneboe's.

There is an overarching visual identity for this series:

— always serif typography (though not the same typeface every time)

— black and white as the main palette – broken up by slabs of colour
— similar layouts

...like the black field covering one fifth of the Hauge album cover. It's tilted 90 degrees and repeated on two fifths of the Bjørneboe album cover

"Mitt hjerte" CD album – opened digipak — I photographed Finn for this cover. We used a portrait in the booklet, and this one (upper right) for the inner pages of the digipak. The "exterior" of "Mitt hjerte" is kept in the series’ prominence of black and white, but when you open it you start to see slabs of vivid colours. The painting behind the CD is by Finn Coren.

"Mitt hjerte" – booklet spreads and back cover — There are more paintings by Finn Coren throughout the booklet, but also paintings by his mother, Rigmor Voldnes. The one next to the lyrics for "Du våkner" is by Finn, the one below is by Rigmor Voldnes. The back of the booklet is also a painting by Finn, kind of mirroring the front.
