2003. Before the sub-prime mortgage crisis changed everything.
Sendero Hills took a startlingly simple approach to their business. They built quality, affordable homes in a safe neighborhood 8 minutes from downtown Austin. They didn't view the place as a development, but rather, a community. And every decision they made reflected this philosophy. To discourage drug dealers from moving in, Sendero refused to sell "rent houses." If you owned it, you lived there. Attack dogs were unwelcome. They built playscapes, parks, community gardens. It really was just a nice place for hard working folks to live.
