Statement Of Purpose:

The idea of this project is to display visual typographic aesthetics through the use of song lyrics. By reading and listening to these lyrics, I want to display a sense if communication and meaning of “rain”. Each design is an 8x8 inch design making one composition that is folded to create typographic imagery and emotion. Colors used are calming monotones: use of blues and grays with hints of black and white to keep simplicity and evoke emotion and melancholy. 

 

Each of the pages is to flow nicely and move the viewer's eye through the entire piece. The idea is to make some text elements appear as the storm, drawing the eye down and around the page, really giving the words a voice. I wanted the first page to immediately capture the attention of my viewers, the colors pop off the page, and it is very visually interesting.
