Made up of four parts: The Major Hall Ceiling, Minor Hall Ceiling, the Arup Beam that was developed specifically for this structure, and the iconic shells; using 3D and 2D programs interchangeably, the physical models were created. These parts of the building were investigated and recreated digitally, and physically, for a final assessment of the work and approach methods. Emphasis was placed on being able to show graphically, not only how the 3D model was created but also the physical. This was done by conveying how final forms were produced from descriptive geometry to numerically controlled fabrication. Methods of production used were 3D printing and laser cutting.
