Dantesca

Dantesca Pizzaria, Italy with Minas Gerais.
The pizzeria embodies Italian tradition with Belo Horizonte's care by using cultural icons and landmarks to build its identity and create good recipes at an affordable cost.
Naming, branding, visual identity, graphic design, illustration & painting.
Belo Horizonte, Minas Gerais. 2020.

The concept makes reference to Dante Alighieri and transports the consumer to the universe of classic Italian art and culture. In addition, it brings the Belorizontine culture as a counterpoint, which causes this picturesque contrast between classic & contemporary, Italian & Brazilian, classic art & urban art.

The goal was to develop a contemporary visual identity that is able to create a bridge between Italy and Belo Horizonte, bringing originality, art and a little playfulness :)

Client: Dantesca Pizzeria
Team: Eduardo Ouvido e Gustavo Machado
Photography: Rafael Motta
Lettering: Bernardo Sek
For the design of the project, we took into account the local context of the pizzeria, the Italian culture, the ingredients used in the recipes and cultural artistic movements.

To design the logo, artist Bernardo Sek was invited to develop the brand's icon, evoking the old capital letters present in classic literary works, in contrast to an unusual and humorous second typography.

The identity is composed of paintings, typographic compositions, stamps and adornments to bring this link between the two cultures.

THANK'S :)
