Դուդուկ [doodook] is an Armenian musical instrument with a 1900 year-old history. It’s also called an “apricot pipe”, as it’s made of dried apricot wood. Nowadays, this instrument is probably the best to describe the feelings and spirit of the Armenian people.
One of the local magazines had an interview with outstanding duduk player Jivan Gasparyan and requested me to deal with the visualization of the material. As the magic of duduk is created with the fingers of the musician, I have investigate the Armenian alphabet and fonts and painted them on my hands, then scanning them to reproduce the language of this wonderful instrument.
