Lakes are a necessary type of water ecosystem that contains rich vitality. They can continuously produce regenerative resources such as fish and shrimp and regulate the microclimate around the water catchment area, but Taiwanese people seldom know about the lakes in their own land. "O! Taiwan Lake Plate Set" uses Taiwan lakes as the theme of the plate and takes lakes into our daily life, not only to let people know more about the lakes in Taiwan but also to emphasize the importance of environmental issues and present the unique beauty of lakes with three-dimensional curves.
Research

There are many lakes in Taiwan, and many of them have unique ecological features or have a significant impact on local life. I found that these lakes nurture Taiwan's precious flora and fauna, and many of them are closely related to current environmental issues. In addition to Sun Moon Lake and Jiaming Lake, I have selected three other just as essential lakes: Shuanglian Lake, Yuanyang Lake, and Dalupalringi Lake. I hope that this project will help people understand more about lakes in Taiwan and to start paying attention to the environment and lake conservation issues.
Material Application

Taiwan recycles a large amount of glass, hoping to transform the discarded glass into high-value objects. This project uses recycled glass as the primary material, using the mold to make a plate in the shape of a lake in Taiwan, hoping to use this theme to make people more aware of Taiwan's natural environment while also focusing on the importance of environmental conservation. During the production process, we also tried to add the technique of dyeing the glass to increase the variation of this work.

The name of the product series is based on the Taiwanese pronunciation of "lake," which also extends the product logo with the English O. The directional symbol in the upper right corner is derived from the second tone marker in Mandarin Chinese.
Packaging

The central theme of the work is to let people know about lakes in Taiwan and emphasize the importance of the natural environment. The whole packaging is simple and neat, emphasizing the concept of recyclability. Only pieces of thick cardboard and a piece of paper tape are used to protect the plate, avoiding over-packing.
Color Scheme

In addition to the natural blue color of the lake, another primary color consideration is transparent black glass, which not only strengthens the visual weight of the lake plates on the table but also enhances the curves of the lake and deepens the user's impression of it.
The black color also symbolizes the existence of a gray area that was once unappreciated.
Market Potentials

Plates as everyday objects appear on the dining table every day. The lake plates that contain food remind us of the importance of lakes and the environment. Considering the market's attractiveness, we use Sun Moon Lake and Jiaming Lake, two familiar lakes, to attract people to buy it and learn more about the other three lakes, Shuanglian Lake, Yuanyang Lake and Dalupalringi Lake, which are equally important and less known.
