ABOUT:

This project focusses on an existing building in Wellington (the John Chambers building). It was required to create architecture in architecture for a hotel. We were to design, articulate and put effort towards to specific areas (cafe and bar). The inspiration was to be drawn from any country and a story so that the final design is visualised through a journey.

MY PROJECT:

My influence of architecture was inspired by Malaysian architecture and my story was about a Queen and her role. The materiality, colour and multi-levels are a representation of traditional Malaysian housing. The story was about a Queen who had the ability to cure diseases through sound. This enhances the idea of sound acting continuously through the journey. Circulation and curvature have been brought into the design intervention in a continous manner to reinforce the idea of "infinite." Curvature and verticalilty both abstract sound into form.
