This illustration tells the story of a rural man who comes into the big city and is forced to adopt cultures, lifestyles and technologies which may have been foreign to him. There is such a rich cultural exchange in Johannesburg that people's cultures and lifestyles often rub off on each other. The pigeon represents the already corrupted soul of a habitant of the city.
